It takes more courage
Here is Molly Arden's frank unflinching opinion of the week:
It takes more nerve (guts, courage, balls, tits) to write a poem in defense of Danish cartoonists or Ariel Sharon, for example, than to write yet one more denunciation of Dubya or dippy crappy anti-war verse for a book of same edited by an angry Buddhist or grandstanding bullshit artist.
Take that!

Wow.
You ain't kidding.
Do you think that is because:
a. Sharon is in a coma?
b. Both things are old news?
c. The Zionists masquerading as religious Jews destroyed a neighboring democratic country?
d. a and b only
e. a and c only
f. all three
g. none of the above, I don't read the news.
Old news! You are too much. The news remains new and you are in denial. The "Zionists" didn't destroy Lebanon. The medieval Hezbollah did, hiding themselves amid the civilian population. Susan Sontag was wrong to question the word "coward" in relation to terrorists who target civilians or us them as pawns and "human shields." What an ugly phrase. Syria and Iran have never wanted an independent Lebanon and are sabotaging the formation of same. And how do you like the way those fanatics treat women? How do you like the way they exploit and oppress and indoctrinate their populations? Enough. Screw you. Whoever you are. Write on, Molly.
