Who ends correspondence that way? Why chop the 2 "e's" out? Why write it at all? I'm guessing it was the semester abroad.


I did offer a toast today - rang in the new year
of fresh faces, acne blanketed with proactiv,
abs perched above low-slung jeans, wide belts
and all this below cherubic, open faces full of ignorance.

Hello essence of adolescence,
hello hormone and ring tones,
hello erection and damp midsection,
hello fake tans and freshman.
